Still working on the latest addition to my page, which will be from my deployment with Echo Troop, 108th Cavalry, home stationed in Griffin, Georgia.

E Troop mobilized in December, 2004 and underwent a six month train-up for the deployment in May, 2005.  I joined the troop for a day in May and caught back up with them 19 June in Al Mahmudiyah, Iraq.  E Troop had just taken over the area and was conducting combat patrols, raids, cordon and searches, and traffic control points to aid in the safety of the people of Mahmudiyah.  Over the next six months, we won the hearts and minds of the children, parents, and town leaders alike but not without a cost.  I will always remember SSG Robert Hollar, SGT George Draughn, and SPC Michael Stokely.

E Troop turned over control of AO EAGLE to the 101st Airborne and proceeded on to the next mission, and much needed change of pace, convoy escort.  Operating out of Ali Air Base, Tallil, Iraq, we moved necessary supplies from North to South and South to North.  The beginning of a new year brought on a new location for the troop, LSA Anaconda, Balad, Iraq where we continued convoy escort missions.
